ABOUT

I am a psychotherapist who loves what I do. I'm committed to helping you live the life you long for.

Born and raised in Chicago, I moved back to the Midwest in 2009 after living an adventurous fourteen years on the West Coast.  I graduated from John F. Kennedy University in 2006 with a specialization in Somatic Psychology and I have worked with a very diverse population over the years, including: severely abused and traumatized children and adults, suicidal and psychotic clients, immigrants, transgender and transsexual clients, clients struggling with poverty and community violence, couples experiencing sexual challenges, gang-affiliated clients and perpetrators of violence, addicted clients and their partners/family members, artists and creatives, financially successful clients seeking increased love and connection, and other clients whose primary focus is personal growth and development.
During my first five years in Madison, I worked at Canopy Center's Oasis program providing sexual abuse treatment to children and their non-offending parents and supervising Oasis's clinical interns. From working with such diverse groups, I am clear that what matters most is what brings us together rather than what separates. I have yet to meet a person unworthy of compassion and kindness because no matter what our words or deeds, we're all doing our best to meet real, human needs. As Maya Angelou said, "I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better." That said, the unconditional compassion and kindness is for the person, not the personality. No one is served by being coddled when they need to be challenged or challenged when they need support.
